| 新鋭ビデオ作家ゲイリー・ヒル初個展。ワタリウム美術館全館を真っ暗にし、８つの作品が幻想の世界へと誘いました。地下書店にも、ビデオ作品、ドローイングを展示。 テクノロジーを全く新しい表現手段として絵の具のように操りながら、記憶、経験、意識、時間、そして人間のもつ曖昧な不思議さ、さらに人間と機械の関わりを、人間くさい視点から捉えたこの展覧会は、マスコミに大きな反響をまきおこしました。 Eight large installations by leading American video artist Gary Hill were shown at three darkened levels of the museum, and some additional video works and drawings at the museum bookstore in the basement. In modern Japan society, technology has become an end in itself. However, in this exhibit the artist used technology to express a mysterious vagueness, exploring new ways to use technology as a natural means of expression. It attracted a lot of attention from the press. |
