Contemporary art is not a sacred concept to be discussed in selective places
such as galleries, museum or studios. It is deeply involved with society, and each develops by affecting the other. The featured artists expressed in their works their interest in politics, ecology, high technology, advertisements, cartoons, AIDS, sadism and masochism, homosexuality, mythology etc. The artworks were chosen from the museum collection: they were works by artists who have strong influence on society.
It is rare for Japanese art exhibitions to deal with such subjects, particularly AIDS, and following the show the topics of AIDS spread through the media to society.
