running,
bumping,
falling,
knee burst,
being surprised,
breathe in while getting up,
feeling an impact on the back by something, falling over again, breaking a tooth or so. All of this is compiled in an incident of about 3 seconds. Everything. Be aware that there are no messages or solutions in this work. If anything, the lazy body is met by a instantaneous crisis and reacting to it.
"Physicatopia" is an instantaneous space where physical reality solely possesses advantage against reason, language and social justice. Physicatopia manifests itself where we raise our hands up high. It draws laughter although the violence.
contact Gonzo
Founded in 2006 by Masaru Kakio and Yuya Tsukahara, contact Gonzo constructs its unique nomadic sublime theory with the contact of bodies as the starting point expressed through various activities such as; improvisational performance; production of film and photography; and magazine editing. contact Gonzo is the name of this group as well as the title of the methodology they practice, where a mountain soars behind. Currently they have established their own office while developing the act of shooting various fruits into the body at 100km/h, and sliding the mountain in "yama surfing" (mountain surfing). The present group consists of 4 members; Yuya Tsukahara, Keigo Mikajiri, Takuya Matsumi, and NAZE. Each member produce their own work in various fields.
contact Gonzo has been selected as the grant recipient by The Saison Foundation since 2011.
