OSGEMEOS and Barry McGee “One More”

OSGEMEOS and Barry McGee “One More”

EXHIBITION

You’re gonna reclaim the city. These are the words of Barry McGee (b. San Francisco, 1966-), the world's most sought-after street artist.
This exhibition in Tokyo is the world’s first collaborative exhibition between Barry McGee and OSGEMEOS. Barry McGee unveiled a large mural at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1998, which became the museum's permanent collection. He also created the world's largest mural installation at the Venice Biennale in 2001. OSGEMEOS (b. São Paulo, Brazil, 1974-) held a large, year-long exhibition at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington. Their works, born of the streets, will undoubtedly bring a new cultural energy of freedom to Tokyo.
Record shop and animation room will appear.

The exhibition "One More,"which takes place at WATARI-UM in 2025, goes beyond an exhibition; it is a family gathering where we, OSGEMEOS, and Barry McGee will encounter a blank space, and in it, improvisations and narratives will happen very naturally. Occupying the rooms and floors of the museum will be like composing an improvised song where upon the band plays with what each one does best.

We met Barry in 1993, when he was doing an artistic residency in São Paulo, our hometown. From then on, a timeless bond of friendship and creativity was formed. Holding this exhibition with Barry is an opportunity to bring to Tokyo, Japan, two international contemporary artists with an immeasurable background of languages and techniques that involve drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations, performances, video art, etc.

"One More" will be a unique experience for the Japanese public, who will be able to access a portal to imagination, a dive into a playful, figurative, and anarcho-abstract universe. This will be one of our most important exhibitions due to the strong connection and relationship with Barry McGee.
